Centova Cast is a control panel built by Centova Technologies Inc, a Canadian based company. We have offered Centova Cast as a control panel option since our intial launch all the way back in 2013.
The panel supports both SHOUTcast & Icecast streaming, using Auto DJ and live DJ broadcasting. It features an intuitive interface, drag & drop file manager, advanced statistic reporting and handy embeddable widgets for your website.
What can it do?
As with all software, it has it's limitations, but it also has some great features that broadcasts around the globe find extremely useful. For now - let's focus on the positives!
- Intelligent Auto DJ which will allow you to create logical playlists and schedule your music however you please.
- Comprenhensive statistics to track when & how your listeners are tuning into your radio station.
- Having to submit royalty reports to your local licensing agency? Centova takes care of this for you with handy exportable reports.

What can it not do?
As we mentioned, all software has limitations; some things are built to behave differently and so it's important to consider some things that the software may not be able to help you with!
- Looking for an advanced automation system? This probably isn't for you. You won't be able to create interruptable playlists or playlists that use third party stream relays.
- Widgets provided by Centova Cast follow a simple style and can't be edited easily. If you're looking for widget that you would like to customise to suit your website, we don't recommend Centova Cast.
The final verdict...
Centova Cast is a great piece of software, but it's not without it's drawbacks. It can have a fairly steep learning curve and takes a little getting used to. The software also has not been updated by the original manufacturer for a long while; we're hoping this will change in the near future. If you're looking for a rock-solid, simple streaming solution, we'd recommend taking a look at AzuraCast.
If you're looking for a system with new & advanced features, then Centova Cast probably isn't for you. AzuraCast and MediaCP are both modern alternatives, though also have their own drawbacks.
